While many sections of the PCT may be claimed to be the most scenic, the portion of the trail that departs from the historic WPA Timberline Lodge in Northern Oregon is shaping up to be not only one of the best PCT day hikes, but a highlight of the entire cross-country trail. It meanders through wildflowers and great views of the mountains of Paradise Park and the surrounding Mt. Good National Forest.
The PCT almost connects to the Timberline Lodge reversing, making a great starting point on the PCT day trek. Follow the northern trail six miles from Timberline Lodge and get ready to soak up scenes of abundant wildflowers, cascading water springs, and all views of Mount Hood. Six miles off the trail is the Paradise Park Loop Trail, which can take you back to Timberline Lodge where you can stay overnight or fill your backpacker appetite.
